Professional Notary Records Book (journal / log)
$29
Required since 2023: log every NY notarial act and keep the book 10 years.
As of January 25, 2023, New York requires every notary — including people who only do traditional in-person work — to keep a journal of all notarial acts (type of ID, among other fields) and retain it for ten years. Electronic notaries also keep the audio-video recording. This bound Professional Notary Records Book meets journal rules in all 50 states. If you only come back every four years for a new Ideal self-inking stamp, you still need this log. The stamp is your statement of authority. The journal is your proof of what actually happened.
